The national Centre for the forest property (CNPF) is a public institution serving the forest owners. It brings together 18 regional centres (CRPF) and a R&D department, the Institute for the forest development (IDF). Its missions are:
Guide the management of the private forests by developing the regional patterns of forestry management (SRGS), and the codes of good forestry practices of the private forests (CBPS), as well as by approving the basic management plans (PSG), compulsory or voluntary, or the typical management regulations (RTG), established by the cooperatives and forester experts.
Advise, improve and form, by popularising the forestry methods based on studies and testing in the field.
Bring together any kinds of groups of owners, principally the cooperative, for the forest management, the sale of goods, the realization of forestry activities or improvement of land structures.
These missions are carried out by taking into account the control of the forest health, the protection of the environment, the sustainable development, the spatial planning or even the prevention of risks.
