Top 5 of the Sanguinet Lake outdoor activities
Last week we made you discover the fabulous history of the forest of the Landes of Gascogne. This week, we want to give you more information about different activities that you can practice around the Sanguinet Lake. As the sunny days are coming, why don’t you enjoy them? 😊
1. Ride around the lake using the bicycle paths
The sun comes out, so it is time to motivate oneself and resume any sport activity! The bicycle path along the Sanguinet Lake can be used throughout the year. You can use the path in the forest of pines to go to Biscarrosse and the other villages such as Parentis, Mimizan… By bike, scooter or rollers, you can have a nice sportive ride with your family!
It is possible to rent a bicycle at, Cycles Vacances Plus which is some 50 metres from the bicycle paths and our place. For the residents of the Oréades, it is possible to rent bicycles at the Caton beach, which is situated on the right of the domaine.
2. Horseback riding around the lake
If you want to have an unforgettable horseback riding around the Sanguinet Lake, Virginie at Equi Aventure will welcome you with her horses to go horseback riding and go to the ocean giving you an unforgettable memory. The program: departure at the ranch and then cross the forest to the ocean. A unique experience worth to live, during 1 hour, 2 hours or half day, and for all the levels.
3. Stand-up paddle or Canoe-Kayak on the Sanguinet Lake
The calm and secure water of the Sanguinet Lake allows the practice of several activities; from swimming to aquatic sports, there are activities for everyone! Yak’Ocean, offers you a great range of aquatic activities such as the Stand-up Paddle, Canoe-Kayak, Pirogue, Wave-Rafting, and even takes in charge the organisation of your stag parties. 😉
You can rent the material, participate to classes or supervised water trips. Rentals, classes and water trips supervised by Stand-up paddle instructors. Discover new sliding sensations in the middle of an extraordinary environment.
4. Sailing with the Sanguinet sailing club
As the Sanguinet Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in France, the sailing sports are numerous. With the Sanguinet sailing club, you can practice windsurfing, and rent different types of boats such as catamarans or sailing dinghies for 2 to 5 persons. It is accessible for beginners, for experienced people, and for children and adults!
5. Swimming at the supervised beaches
Do you want only to enjoy the lake and relax? No problem: the Pavillon and Caton beach are supervised from July 8th to September 3rd, every day from 1: 30p.m until 7p.m. The beaches are surrounded by numerous trees giving you shades. But be careful the sun beats down during summer, so do not forget your sunscreen….😉
