Good news: we&#8217;ve come up with 10 not-to-be-missed sightseeing tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>1. The Museum of Traditions and History in Biscarrosse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museetraditions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">Mus\u00e9e des traditions et de l&#8217;histoire in Biscarrosse <\/a>offers a panorama of the traditional heritage of the Landes region, and more specifically that of the Pays de Born, and offers visitors a boat trip to discover the marshes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">It offers a free or guided approach to the commune&#8217;s history, local culture, landscapes and the way man has shaped his environment. It explains the formation of the dunes, the lakes that conceal archaeological sites in their waters, the exploitation of the Landes forest, gemmage and resin exploitation, as well as all the rural and artisanal activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>2. Municipal Museum of Lake Sanguinet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">Under the calm waters of our lake, you can imagine three villages, more than thirty pirogues and a variety of sunken objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">The Mus\u00e9e Municipal du Lac de Sanguinet invites you to discover or rediscover three themes: sand, man and water:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"ls-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>The history of lake formation on the Aquitaine coast ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The life of men in Sanguinet from 1500 BC to the 4th century, through an exceptional archaeological heritage: villages, objects of daily life, pirogues ..;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The lake&#8217;s aquatic life and ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>3. Saint-Pierre-\u00e8s-Liens de Biganon church in Moustey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moustey.fr\/Le-village\/Patrimoine\/L-eglise-St-Pierre-es-liens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saint-Pierre-\u00e8s-Liens de Biganon<\/a> is one of three churches in Moustey. It may seem strange that a small Landes village should have several places of worship, but that&#8217;s because the commune of Biganon joined Moustey in 1964.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">Built in the 11th century, the Saint-Pierre-\u00e8s-Liens church in Biganon is a vast Romanesque building decorated with medieval wall paintings that were only discovered in 1982. Devoid of any sculpted decoration, the building is an example of the simplicity of medieval architecture. However, its organization is rather complex: a chevet with a circular apse is completed by two apsidioles clearly separated from the main apse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>4. Notre-Dame and Saint-Martin churches in Moustey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%89glise_Notre-Dame_de_Moustey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Les \u00e9glises Notre-Dame &amp; Saint-Martin \u00e0 Moustey<\/a>, de style roman, sont construites en garluche et munies d\u2019un clocher-mur. The two churches were once in the same cemetery, which led Dom Biron, quoted by Abb\u00e9 Baurein, to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">&#8220;I&#8217;ve run so much, traveled so much, never have I seen two churches in one cemetery.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>5. Michel and Jacqueline Kubiak&#8217;s garden in Saint-Paul-en-Born<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">Michel and Jacqueline Kubiak&#8217;s garden in Saint-Paul-en-Born is a haven of peace, with a subtle blend of numerous varieties and selected species. From climbers to ground cover, all strata are generously occupied. Clematis, ampelopsis, roses, sage, ceanothus, lantina verbena and many others dress the garden in a multitude of colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>6. Sainte Ruffine fountain in Moustey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">Dedicated to Saint Ruffine, the fountain in the hamlet of Biganon, which became part of the commune of Moustey in 1964, is reputed to be miraculous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">The fountain is prominently displayed behind the Biganon church. It was much visited, as it was believed to have miraculous virtues for curing skin ailments affecting young children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>7. The Gourgue educational trail in Sanguinet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">This magnificent 4.5 km trail follows the course of the Gourgue, the tiny stream that was responsible for the formation of Lac de Sanguinet. The route is marked out in yellow on the trees and with signs explaining the main environments and species of the ecosystem. The start is on the right of the road opposite the Sanguinet church. Allow 1 h 30 to 2 hours for the hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>8. The R\u00e9sinier trail in Sanguinet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">The &#8220;sentier du r\u00e9sinier&#8221; is an educational trail that takes you through the different stages of gemmage and the evolution of methods since the last century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>9. The Hydraviation Museum in Biscarrosse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydravions-biscarrosse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Biscarrosse Hydraviation Museum <\/a>is located on the mythical site of the former Lat\u00e9co\u00e8re base, and tells the story of its history and that of hydraviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\"><strong>10. Le courant des forges&#8221; discovery trail in Pontenx-les-Forges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ls-paragraph\">Along <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tourismelandes.com\/itineraire\/a-pontenx-les-forges-sentier-de-decouverte-du-courant-des-forges-itiaqu040v502mfq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the &#8220;Le courant des forges&#8221; discovery trail in Pontenx-les-Forges<\/a>, you&#8217;ll pass through an ancient wetland, stands of pine forest where young and old trees are cultivated and cared for until they&#8217;re harvested. Along the way, you&#8217;ll discover a vestige of the feudal era (motte f\u00e9odale).
