Holidays in Sanguinet : Nature walks for everyone’s tastes
Sanguinet, its lake, forest, moorlands : A paradise for walkers of all sorts. Here are some suggestions to suit everyone’s tastes and for holidays with a wide variety of activities.
On foot : the Gourgue Trail.
This 4,5 km magnificent footpath follows the river Gourgue, the little brooklet which was at the origins of lake Sanguinet’s formation (Yes indeed !). The trail is marked out in yellow on the trees and with signposts which explain to the walkers the main environmental niches and the different species in the ecosystem.
The starting point is to be found to the right of the road opposite Sanguinet church . Allow 1.30 -2 hours to complete the walk.
By boat : guided tour on the large lakes of Les Landes
In order to discover the history of Les Hautes-Landes and the lakeside villages, you can choose a pleasant guided tour of 1h30 on Cazaux-Sanguinet lake, the Les Landes canal and Biscarosse Lake.
The embarkation point is at Beau-Rivage port with the Compagnie des Lacs. Adult rate : 13 € / children 8,50 € (free for children under 3).
On horseback : ride in the forest or around the lake
Whether you have never ridden a horse before or are an experienced rider, you will find something to please you in Sanguinet. Indeed several options are available to suit your budget and your level of expertise, from a 1 hour ride in the forest (20 € per person) to half a day in the forest and around the lake (50 € per person).

Up in the Trees : acrobatic pathways through branches, bungee jumping and free- jumping.
At Biscarosse-Plage, with a beautiful view over Biscarosse beach and the sea, the Bisc’aventures park proposes 11 different canopy tours, including a tour for younger children (4-6 years old). The most adventurous can also try the free-jump (5 meters jump without rubber cord, from 6 years old on) and even bungee jumping (18 meters, from 15 years old on).
The park is open every day in summer from 10am to 7pm. Entry rates from 10 – 22 €, according to age (free-jump and bungee jumping as an option).
