Jazz in Sanguinet 2013: 4 completely jazzy days!
For the 14th consecutive year, Sanguinet becomes the capital of jazz in The Landes during a long week end from Thursday the 25th to Sunday the 28th of July 2013.
Headline tops of the concerts such as The Shaolin Temple Defenders, Ronald Baker or even Stefano di Battista are expected with eagerness.
Four musical days and nights, 22 groups and bands, 22 concerts including 17 free concerts and five concerts with stars in a big marquee. It is the programme of the 14th edition of jazz in Sanguinet organized by the town of Sanguinet which will take place in Espace Gemme which has been fitted out in a jazz Village, with a bodega , a place where you can eat and a Village creators.
What is the programme? A today’s jazz born of the melting of afro jazz, Latino jazz, classical jazz, world music & r’n blues, with as always the swing.
Here it is the programme:
Thursday the 25th of July, free concerts: The festival will start at 5 p.m with four free concerts of Blue Family, C’leen & The Jazzy Fellers and Magic Monkey which will be punctuated with a dancing show offered by the Shaolin Temple Defenders.
Friday the 26th of July: As soon as 5 P.M, there will be three free concerts of Favorit Swing Duo, Undergroove and Paris Swing Machine.
Then, later, from 9 P.M, the big marquee will welcome the American trumpet player and singer Ronald Baker & his band as well as Rhoda Scott & Aurore Voilque for a « djangolized » dedicated to Django Reinhardt.
Saturday the 27th of July : The events will start at 10:30 A.M with, in the open air, a concert of Hisse & Ho then at 5 P.M C’leen & Seb, Mingos quartet at around 6 P.M and Sweet Dixie quintet at 7 P.M.
The spectacle will keep on in the big marquee at 9 P.M with the musical formation of Jérôme Gatius & Guillaume during the first part then at 10:15 P.M Stefano di Battista and his musicians.
Sunday the 28 of July: As the day before, the last day of the festival will start early with a free concert of the gospel choir Les Voix de Losa at 11:15 A.M. At the end of the afternoon there will be three free concerts of Sherwood, Sanguinet jazz band and the band SMAC at 6 P.M.
At 9:30 P.M. the closing concert festival will be performed by FredL Gospel & the Soul Traverlers octet in the big marquee.
